Great ambiance, great wine list and best of all, a fabulous menu. Love Campiello.

This is from the same folks that do D'Amicos, so the bar is fairly high in my book. This place did not disappoint. The wine selection, even for happy hour, is pretty solid. The appetizers have been delicious both times I have been here. Though, honestly, I'm a big fan of the complimentary bread. Gimme all the bread! The service is apparently hit or miss. Sit on the patio and get good service. Sit in the bar area and get surly service. Alright then. If you like wine and happy hour and like them even more when they're combined, hit this place up.

Eden Prairie is not a location well known for it's awesome food, but this place really is an exception. When here for work, I enjoy this place when I don't feel up to driving to MSP proper and have had my fill of fast food. :) The wine is tasty, the food is quite good and a nice variety. Last night we each had a glass of wine and a salad (beet salad and pear salad, both excellent and beautiful), followed by a small order of seafood risotto for me and ricotta gnocchi with oxtail for my boyfriend. We didn't manage to eat much of the main course since we weren't that hungry, but I did polish them off for lunch today. Yum. Service is always warm and efficient, and they seem actually trained which is awesome.

Everything about Campiello suggests an engaging experience. Decor, wait staff, the open kitchen theme. But this is my 2nd time here and the food is good, not great. Each dish, from soup to dessert, falls in the good category. Nothing is bad either. Not a whole lot else to write about.

Went for restaurant week. A quaint restaurant that features a different regional menu, as well as a regular menu. I ordered the house salad ,tagliatelle with spicy lamb , and butterscotch budino with hazelnut toffee. My waiter was knowledgeable said he had tried everything on the menu. He was very curtious and prompt to refill my water. The house salad was good. I didn't expect it to have boiled egg on it. The tagliatelle had a great sauce. I like spicy but this was much more mild. It wasn't even very spicy . The noodles were a harder than expected . If you like butterscotch , I would recommend the butterscotch budino. It was a very strong butterscotch taste.

My wife and I went here for dinner on Friday night and enjoyed it. They have a great atmosphere and patio so we sat outside. The service was great and the food was excellent. I personally don't like italian enough to justify the cost though ($201 bill with a bottle of wine). I know now that they have a lot of great specials so that is likely the only time I would go back.

    I. Love. This. Place. Great food and service. Love how they do a special menu every month focusing on a specific region of Italy. Serious value and a wonderful atmosphere for special occasions.

My office recently ordered Campiello for lunch; it was a huge hit for all of us in the office. Campiello is owned by the D'Amico family of restaurants, and the D'Amico brand is one I trust. They seem to have a knack for high-end, quality flavors in their dishes. The spit-roasted pork sandwich is one of the 10 best sandwiches I've ever consumed in all my 31 + years on Planet Earth. The pork is paired with grilled red onions and mozzarella cheese, then served on a perfectly-toasted and flavored ciabatta bun (at least, I think that's what the bun was). This was the kind of sandwich I had to force myself to slow down my eating, so that I could truly savor it. The house-made potato chips were a great success, too. Melt in your mouth chips. Such a unique potato chip; you can tell it's their own recipe, not something generic or bland. A colleague let me try her balsamic-glazed short rib. While she loved the dish, I thought it didn't hold a candle to Redstone's version of the dish. The meat was tender, but there was more fat and less meat on the ribs, as compared to Redstone's. Additionally, I think the balsamic flavor steals away from the flavor of the meat. Just my opinion, though -- others loved the dish. For a man like me, Campiello is a tad on the pricey side, with lunch sandwiches starting at $13, pizzas at $14-$15, desserts starting at $9.50, and entrees ranging from $14-$18.

Was there last night during restaurant week. They had a special menu $30/person inclusive of salad/appetizer, enter, and dessert. A good deal based on the prices on the menu. Mike was our server and very attentive and cordial. For the first course, the meatballs, salads, mussels were ordered. All were good. For entrees, the eggplant parm, tagliatelle with lamb, the chicken and risotto and the ravioli were ordered. All were tasty and portions ample. Finally the deserts were the highlight with the butterscotch budino, passion fruit cake, chocolate mouse cake and raspberry sorbet. All in all a solid meal - with good ambiance and excellent service. Perfect for a family or friend gathering.

I like this place. It is Italian food so lots of high carb pasta dishes that taste good. However we had this server by the name of Leslie who got an attitude when she thought we were not going to tip her right. She said nothing but her look and demeanor spoke volumes. If we can avoid her next time things should be alright.

My husband and I ate here for the first time tonight, outside on the patio. The food was great and the service was outstanding. In addition to our waitress, there were separate people clearing the table, bringing out or boxing up food, and pouring water, so we felt very well taken care of. We will definitely be back.

Joined coworkers here for dinner on 12/2/13. + Promptly seated; no wait at all + Servers were polite, professional, and very efficient + Waters were consistently refilled - never waited with an empty glass + Huge wine selection; limited wines by the glass + Daily specials sounded fresh and interesting + Menu offered a little something for everyone +/- Prices about on par with what you'd expect in city 'burbs + Food was outstanding - everyone raved about their dishes; I had the golden beet salad, to which I added a grilled chicken breast, and it was divine. Nicely balanced, full of flavor, and very fresh. I'd get this again, although the short ribs looked absolutely superb... + Nice dessert menu, with plenty of after dinner drink options - Desserts were very small and pricey; single scoop of gelato was $8... A very decent place. I could see myself returning here.

Pastas are bland, sauce tasted funny. Sandwiches lunch combo are "pre-made". Skip this place. Not real Italian food, and they make more money off you on the wine menu.

Campiello is tucked away attached to a strip mall in Eden Prairie. For all the corporate people in Eden Prairie this is one of the "go to" spots for lunch and drinks. Many people have shied away from Campiello assuming that it would be too fussy and expensive for a quick lunch. Well I found out that the complete opposite is true. Sure, they have expensive things on the menu but their lunch menu is knockout, fast and affordable. The lunch menu seems to change periodically but generally you can get half of a big sandwich/pasta and half of a soup or salad. My personal favorites are the caesar salad and any of the three sandwiches including: SPIT-ROASTED BEEF with Horseradish Mayonnaise, Oven-Dried Tomatoes and Red Onion SPIT-ROASTED TURKEY with Avocado, Smoked Bacon and Onion Jam PROSCIUTTOCOTTA, MORTADELLA, AND SOPPRESSATA with Giardiniera. The point I'm trying to make is that for around 10 bucks you get a WAY better meal than your average Jimmy John's/Subway. So if you're looking to mix it up for lunch I cannot tell you how much you are going to like this. 612food.com

Wow - I can't believe this place has such good reviews. I didn't know it was affiliated with d'Amico until I went to their site. Just knowing that makes me inclined to only give it a single star, because I've been really happy with the quality of d'Amico's offerings. Maybe we just got the wrong stuff. I was with an unadventurous friend, so we just got the house salad (EXTREMELY uninspired) and the Margherita pizza (unappealing, cracker-like crust, toppings nearly nonexistent). For $23.50 for the two, I expected much better quality. Service was fine. We went before a concert at that spaceship church, and they got us served promptly and out the door in plenty of time. That's what the second star is for.

Amazing service! Very well thought out in design. The food was cooked perfectly and every guest seemed to have there own server despite how busy they were. .

We came here for date night. It's a 3-course meal plus a bottle of wine for two for $50 -- a great deal. We started with a basket of bread. It was warm which is always a plus in my book. For my appetizer, I got the Sicilian Meatballs with Marinara sauce. It was really good, but wasn't hot. It's either pre-made or sat around too long before being brought to the table. My fiance got the Campiello House Salad that was fine, but nothing exciting. For our main course, I got the spit-roasted half chicken with risotto. I rarely order chicken when I dine out because it's one thing I can easily cook at home. However, our server strongly recommended it so I decided to try it. It was surprisingly tender and juicy and the skin was deliciously seasoned. It was actually my favorite part. The risotto was also really good. My fiance got the gnocchi with Italian sausage, tomato and rapini. It was really fishy for some reason. We couldn't figure out why. It kind of ruined the dish for us. The gnocchi was homemade and well-cooked though. For dessert, we got the Baked Chocolate mousse cake with salted caramel gelato and Butterscotch Budino (like a thick pudding). Both were excellent. We were too stuffed to finish them. Our server was really nice and friendly. No complaints there. BTW, we learned that night that if you can't finish the entire bottle of wine, they'll let you cork it and take it home with you. Just remember to put it in the trunk while you're driving home. :) We had a nice experience but probably wouldn't make the drive out there again. If we lived close by, we'd probably consider returning.

They have a limited menu and are a bit pricey but the food is wonderful, service is excellent and the outdoor patio great on one of our few nice days this year. The penne pasta has chicken, artichokes, basil, garlic and lemon with a bit of cream sauce. This is their most popular dish for a good reason. My husband had the spaghetti and meatballs (lots of meatballs) which he really liked. He said the best meatballs are still at Al Vento. The tiramisu was excellent but $9 for a small portion.

Went for lunch yesterday during Restaurant Week. It had been quite a while since I visited last. We had a nice, big table by the kitchen. It was busier than I usually see it, considering the weather. Even busier than I normally see for Restaurant Week. I had the smoked tomato basil soup and a turkey sandwich for $9.95. The tomato basil was really good, not smoky, which is probably how I prefer anyway. I asked for extra crispy bacon on my sandwich and they delivered. Fresh avocado and mixed greens. Tasty giardinera of cauliflower and carrots on the side with freshly-made, thinly-sliced potato chips. To compare with last week's Friday lunch at Woody's, this cost $1 less and the ingredients are higher quality and fresher. Can't wait for July's Restaurant Week to roll around!

Came with colleagues for lunch during restaurant week. I got a pan bagnat tuna sandwich and side salad. While salads generally don't impress me, this one was very good. But it was the tuna sandwich that really won me over. It was superb! This was a quality tuna salad, a far cry from your typical canned tuna mixed with globs of mayo, that was mixed with olive oil, some thinly sliced veggies and maybe hard-boiled eggs (could be getting that detail wrong). Really really delicious! Service was very pleasant, polite and knowledgeable about the menu but the food took a bit too long to come out.

Came on the Saturday before Valentines day and they featured an app/entree/wine for $24.99 which was adequately priced for quality of the food. Opted for the chicken pasta for the main course and was delicious but portion was small. My gf had the spaghetti for her main course and wasn't anything special. Overall happy with it. Regular price entrees seem overpriced and wouldn't have given it 4 stars if it was the same as the special deal they offered.

We've been dining at Campiello for years and years and have had consistently high-quality food and excellent service. Unfortunately our latest experience at the restaurant was not up to the usual standards. One of the things that makes a place like Campiello so special is the familiar servers many of whom have been there for years. Unfortunately they have all vanished under somewhat mysterious circumstances. All that we could find out was that they got "too comfortable". On visits past, you could hardly take a sip of your water without it being refilled by efficient and pleasant servers. Tonight we received our wine from the maître d' our salads and entrees from the chef as our server was overwhelmed with other tables. Interestingly they were as busy as we've ever seen them on a Saturday night which seemed to only exacerbate the problems with the service. We can only hope this is a one time occurrence and that the servers will get into the rhythm with additional experience. It would really be a shame to not have this restaurant in our normal rotation. The food remains top notch.

Came here for lunch during restaurant week. This place is like a diamond in the rough. Located in a strip mall off Shady Oak, Campiello stood out like a sore thumb. The restaurant isn't huge nor is it small. White table cloth and shiny silverware type of dinning atmosphere. Since they belong to the D'amico chain, food can't go wrong. I ordered the spaghetti and meat ball. Very typical I know. Anyway, I would come back for it! I don't care if it's pricey. I've never had such amazing spaghetti before! My coworker ordered the peene something... . I'm drawing a blank on the name. Anyway it came with mushroom, basil sauce and artichoke. He loved it. Great place for a romantic date night if you're out in the southwest suburbs.

Nice restaurant. We went for date night and it was a great deal to get two 3 course meals with a bottle of wine for $50. Service was good and food was good. I loved my butternut squash ravioli abd butterscotch pudding dessert.

With regards to consistency and quality, this is the best restaurant in the Twin Cities! I have never had a bad meal or cocktail at Campiello. The Balsamic Glazed short rib with pasta is a melt in your mouth experience beyond comprehension. I only wish they would open more locations in the metro. Still, it is one of a few restaurants I will drive the distance to enjoy. Excellent!

We love Campiello. I've probably been here 4 or 5 times since we live in Eden Prairie and I've never had a bad experience. The service is always impeccable, as it is with an D'Amico restaurant. The menu is loaded with delicious authentic Italian options. They also have a monthly menu that changes with different regions of Italy including food and wine features from that area. Very cool. I've had and loved the short rib with spaghetti, the mussels, the margherita pizza, and the tagliatelle. The main menu changes seasonally a few times a year as well. The butterscotch budino is an amazing desert, but my girlfriend swears that the chocolate cake here is the best in the world. It doesn't hurt that it comes with salted caramel gelato. All in all, I don't think you can do much better than Campiello if you want great service, awesome food and drinks in a cozy, upscale casual atmosphere.

Another great Sunday 'Date Night' experience at Campiello. While the menu has gotten stale...[they don't change anything about this special except twice a year or so]...the food is still consistent, well prepared, well served through a group that's attentive, all in all a very good value and good experience. Nicely done.

Perfect 10 - Our group of 10 plus two babies had an amazing supper here tonight. Everything we had was great. Bread, wine, appetizers, salads, meals, desserts.... all beyond delicious. The service was the icing on the cake. Knowlegeable, friendly, and attentive. Our dinner was an experience. It felt special; like I feel going to a nice restaurant used to feel like before it turned so 'commonplace'. I only give ratings on yelp when things are exceptional, and tonight was one of those rare nights. Enjoy!

This is an extremely good Italian restaurant. We chanced upon it as business travelers staying at the nearby Garden Inn and looking for a convenient dinner spot. As far as I can tell, every dish was a winner at our table. I had a caesar salad (well-made, crisp greens, awesome dressing), the gnocchi (perfectly prepared) and some various libations. The bar is definitely geared toward wine drinkers, and they have an extensive selection. However, I like beer, and the local porter they carry is superb. A colleague of mine who enjoys mixed drinks was very impressed by the quality and taste of what she ordered as well. A couple from our group went back later in the week to sample more of the menu, and came back with equally glowing reviews. Consistency is good!

This my favorite restaurant. I love to sit outside on the patio when the weather is nice. The food is always good. The service is amazing. And the ambiance outstanding. The prices can be high but you can get some great deals for happy hour, early dining, or date night.

Never a bad meal over the last decade. Seafood risotto is to die for. All the apps are delish. Service is top notch and both outside and inside decor is very nice. Feel bad though that current road construction has to be hurting this top tier Italian restaurant.

If it were a service review, I would say A+...very attentive. However, it is not. This is a food review and the truth needs to be told. Disregard the fact that we were asked if we had a reservation when it was 95% open (plenty of tables) at 6pm and when we left at 7pm plenty were open. Never mind the fine white table service with an overlay of white paper or the white stuffy shirts with scribble on the back. We started with the Caprese Salad - well played! Tomatoes were fresher than fresh and the mozzarella was awesome! Then comes the main course. The beef braised ribs and spaghetti was tender, but not great tasting and the noodles were all sticky. The spicy lamb fettuccine was bland. The noodles were sticky and the lamb was not "lamby" and more like ground beef (rough gristle)...and the server knew it, and the (I assume) manager knew it. I guess the less adventurous like it like ground beef. For the price, the atmosphere, and the food I say D-....service A+...but we are here to eat ,no? (The manager did comp the lamb bolognese and server offered something different, but knowing what we did it was a no thanks, and accepted the comp).

Ambiance lovely. Used to love Uptown location that closed few years ago so wanted to try Eden Prairie. Had to wait short time. Bartenders were funny and cocktails delicious. Pork osso buco was flavorful and interesting. Special steak dish flat. Polenta and cheese cake desert was scrumptious.

I LOVE this restaurant, and it made me so sad to see it only have on average 3.5 stars - way too low in my opinion. Definitely the best Italian food I've had in Minneapolis - it actually tastes Italian, rather than Americanized Italian. I used to go to this location when I lived out in the suburbs, but unfortunately it's a bit too far out to go back very often these days... Or, at all...Their pastas are amazing - simple, yet super flavorful. I believe they change their menu every now and then but if you do go there and they serve their mussels (the kind I had a cream-based sauce, but I can't remember what it was called...), you HAVE to get them if you are at all a seafood person. They were absolutely amazing - best mussels I've ever had!!!

This is one of my favorite Italian places in the Twin Cities. The food is amazing, the selection is unique, and the service is top notch. My favorite lunch meal is the Shrimp, Hearts of Palm, and Avocado Salad and the Panna Cotta for dessert. They even do take-out versions of the salad...delicious!

For my birthday I wanted to go to Café Latte in St. Paul and introduce this gem to my daughter. A storm was on its way in and we didn't want to drive that far, so I called Campiello about noon to see if we could get in that night (Friday) at 7:00. Score! Campiello is a great restaurant and close to my home, yet for some reason I tend to forget about it. Perhaps because it's in a strip mall? The restaurant is beautiful and loud - one big room with a bar off to the side. The first thing that hits my nose when I walk in is the house-roasted tomatoes, which take center stage in the braised short ribs (husband had those). I hate multiple-page menus (ala Cheesecake Factory), but was happy to see that most of the pages are for wine. Food occupies one page, nicely. My daughter had the hangar steak and I had the black cod. Both were excellent. The steak is the best I have tasted - better than Manny's. We just talked and enjoyed truly wonderful food. For dessert I asked about the Tiramisu and our waiter Chris said simply, "We should have an outstanding Tiramisu." I then asked, "Well do you?" They do. My favorite was at now-gone Palamino, but this was quite good. Campiello is my true idea of going out for dinner. Lovely restaurant, incredible food and very attentive service. Dinner for the three of us was $100 - dessert was comped and we had no alcohol. It is a bit pricey and the serving sizes are not ginormous, but we were all full and very satisfied with our selections. I noticed they offer something called Date Night - on Sunday nights they offer a three course meal with a bottle of wine (or 2 non-alcoholic beverages) for $50 per couple. What a great way to build traffic on a non-peak night. We will definitely be back for date night. Campiello is one of my happy places.

I had dinner here with my mom and dad for my mom's birthday on Wednesday night. Our server was terrific. He carded me, which made me happy, when I ordered the pear martini. That pear martini was fantastic! I could have just had two or three of those and been happy. We shared an order of calamari for an appetizer, which is very good although it has a bite to it that might be too spicy for some people. My parents both ordered pasta dishes, one with chicken and a white sauce, one with sausage and a red sauce. I wanted fish, so I asked my server if I should go for the whitefish special or the halibut on the regular menu. He recommended the halibut, which was cooked perfectly, and frankly remarkable. I don't suppose I should be ordering halibut as it's probably on the over-fished list, but it's so rare that I get to go to a nice restaurant with someone else paying so I went for it. The halibut is served with a few yummy mussels and potatoes over the top and a sauce that's a bit heavy on the garlic. However, the light layer of sliced potatoes over the fish protects the delicate fish flavor from being too overpowered by the garlic. Thus, it ended up being perfect! (Especially since I had no kissing plans in the near future). We sat outside on their patio, which is lovely. I like having cloth tablecloths and napkins outdoors. Also, my mother had remarked when she ordered her wine that she deserved it for her birthday, thus at the end of our meal, our server brought a flourless chocolate cake with caramel gelatto with a candle for her without us asking him to. This is definitely a great special occasion place. (The prices ensure that, I think!)

Campiello, you've moved into my top five meals of all time! Besides the fabulous food, the service was second to none. The restaurant is one large open space, but still quiet enough to carry on a conversation. The evening started with the perfect malbec. While I'm not usually the one at the table to order calamari, these tasty morsels were slightly spicy and served with a tangy lemon parsley aoili. The Beet Salad with its yummy crushed pistachios, grapefruit and gorgonzola was a delicious flavor combination. The Balsamic Glazed Short Rib and Spaghetti with Smoked Tomato and Scilian Onion was to die for! I don't say that about much food...the short rib absolutely melted in your mouth and I will be having happy food day dreams about that balsamic glaze. The end of a memorable evening was the rich but oh so satisfying Bittersweet Chocolate Mouse Cake with Caramel Gelato and Peanut Croquant (a fancy name for candy coated crunchy peanuts).

Whenever I'm sent to Suburbistan on business--particularly out of state--I rely on Yelp to get me to decent food. Once again, Yelpers came through. Campiello had unexpectedly good service and food, and a decent drinks menu. I had a Caesar salad followed by a garlic penne with mushrooms (the substitution from artichokes gladly suggested by the server). Both were well-prepared and presented. Service was prompt and responsive without being overbearing. I expect to return to this client a few times. I'll recommend this place to colleagues.

Red Stone. Check. Wildfire. Check. Biaggi's Check. Any other decent restaurants in town? Campiello has always been on my radar, the well heeled D'amico restaurant in town. Not ostentatious like Red Stone and not as corporate as Biaggi's or Wildfire. We stopped in a Friday night before a movie. When you walk in, it feels like any old restaurant. Big wide open space with a bar full of social corporate patrons. But then you see the open kitchen with a big open oven. Not bad at all. We were promptly seated in our regular corner table (psych). Service here was impeccable. Our water was never below half full and our waiter Aaron rocked. He had great recommendations and detailed descriptions of the food. i started with a Dry Rob Boy (Scotched based drink) and I enjoyed it. It's hard to make them right and Campiello did a nice job keeping it scotch like yet flavorful. Mrs. G had a glass of riesling, a nice full pour and perfectly sweet. The food was pretty amazing. We started with the cauliflower fritters, which were light and airy, although a bit light on seasoning. On to our entrees. I've heard their pasta was hand made and wow, this was legit. I had the pappardelle with Braised Duck Ragu. Light, beautiful pasta seeped in braised duck and figs. A dish to die for. Mrs. G tired the Penne with Spit Fire Roasted chicken. Sounds simple but when you make pasta right and the chicken breast is still tender and moist, it's a delectable dish. Given how satisfied we were in the dishes, don't be surprised when you'll see these items cost $20 - $22. Pasta usually is $12 - $15 but it's not hand made and not as good as what you'll find at Campiello. We didn't get a chance to try dessert but I would come back here in a heartbeat. For a nice night out with good food, I won't hesitate to bring my wife here again.

I haven't been to Campiello in about five years and I work down the street. I forgot that Campiello is a consistently good restaurant that hasn't changed much since the last time I dined there. I was super happy to get in on a Saturday night last minute. I truly believe they have tables in storage that they bring out to seat diners. It was very crowded and the waitstaff had little room to pass. I had the hangar steak which was very good. The best part were the brussel sprouts. They were the highlight of the evening. My pear martini was awful and I should have told my waitress. However she seemed a bit overwhelmed by amount of tables she needed to serve. I would definitely put Campiello back on my radar but it is missing a level of culinary excitement.

    I. Love. This. Place. Lucky for me, the Eden Prairie location is still open and soooo close! Seriously, this is the only restaurant I have ever dined at (and continue to dine at) where I can sit and have the wait staff pick my entire meal for me from the wine to the apps to the entre and the dessert and I'm always happy! I would recommend that you ask to be seated in "Nicki's" section..she's aMAZING! I just say, "What should we order tonight?" That said, I recently discovered that most everyone that works there (chefs/wait staff...everyone) has worked there forEVER...no one quits...they all love it. That really says something about a restaurant...heck, ANY business! Love that they switch up the menu seasonally. Short Ribs? Shut the Front Door!! WOW! Don't let the strip-mall fool you. This is a GEM whether a special occasion or just don't feel like cooking..

This was the first time we'd been to Campiello's in years - not sure why, because we had good experiences in the past - but it won't be long before we're back! Service was just the right level of attentiveness with very knowledgeable and professional guidance. The dining room was warm and inviting on a cold winter night and fully of happy diners. But the food was the real star. I ordered everything from the seasonal menu and it was superb: the grilled octopus starter is a 'top three' of any starter I've had in MN, the butterflied and stuffed turkey entree melded a wonderful range of flavors to be richly satisfying gourmet comfort food (not your typical holiday turkey) and the panettone bread pudding was delightfully light with perfect texture and captivating flavor. Just excellent! I was so absorbed in my meal that I forgot to try my wife's, but she claimed it was outstanding as well.

I'm writing this review for their sunday date night special. We really enjoyed our date night experience. The date night special is $50 for a bottle of wine, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees and 2 desserts. The portions were good and this is an AMAZING value for the price. We also really enjoyed all the food we had here. The food is quite good. My favorite dish was the butterscotch dessert! It's the perfect mix of different flavors (sweet, salty) and textures (smooth, crunchy). Service was good too but my husband's water glass was empty a lot. The only reason I give this place 4 stars instead of 5 is that it's lacking on ambience. It's not bad but there's absolutely nothing special about how this place looks (it's in a strip mall and the inside looks like a million other italian restaurants). I expect more from Damico!

I loved campiello in uptown so I was excited to go to this one in EP. I've been several times for lunch, always great service! The food is good not quite the level of their uptown location but very good. Cute, cozy atmosphere!

So its pretty well known i hate chains, and this is a chain. However, this is a fantastic chain, a star in the sky! Man what a great meal. (so the review) The ambiance is well, chain-like (something between the Macaroni Grill and Maggiano's) but I forgave that and moved to the menu. I consider it a bad thing when your wine list is longer than your menu, if I were a drinker i might not, but they had a pretty nice wine list. The short menu seems to be a good thing here, lots of places (listed above) get cute and try to appeal to everyone. Not so here, the focus is Tuscan food and they do it real well. Perfectly (and I really mean perfect) mussels, and white beans. I could not imagine them being prepared better, fantastic! Succulent, and savory. I had a pasta dish for my main that was 'hand made' and I scoff, my city is one pretty known for old-school Italian (family) restaurants, so i know hand made pasta. I can tell you this was indeed hand made, cooked al dente with a dainty savory duck sauce. Again bravo! This was indeed a great meal. I would not only return but bring others here.

Wonderful food, ambience, and service. Good choices on food and alcohol menu. Will definately come back. Was a little pricier than I expected. Hubby thought serving of spaghetti a little on the small side. Which, I am not a fan of huge portions, but it was definately a little wimpy looking. However, meatballs and sauce were great. Servers were very attentive!

I do love campiello....but each time i'm forced to go to the EP location it only makes me miss Uptown more and more. With that said, for us Campiello die-hards, we'll have to do with Eden Prairie and only hope for a more urban revival of one of minneapolis' great italian restaurants. The monthly (weekly?) menus feature cuisine and wine from various areas in Italy...giving frequent diners the opportunity to taste and appreciate the different flavors and styles that Italy has to offer. Their wine list is extensive and complete...you can always find a glass selection that will pair well with your meal. They also serve up some tasty, tasty cocktails I must say! During my last dinner I was most impressed with the ahi tuna, avocado and citrus salad that I had as my started. The tuna was fresh, clean and plump. The avocado provided a thick, creamy bite to complement the tangy citrus and shaved green onion topping. Not a bite left on my plate! Since I usually have about 328 things on the menu I want to get, I usually stick to the off the menu side vegetable platter....this way I can get mushroom risotto (always fabulous) and 2 or 3 of the seasonal side vegetable dishes served. The carrots are fabulous, brussell sprouts will convert even the most hasty sprout hater and the spinach with pine nuts and raisins is always good. The desserts are fantastic and i almost always stick to the chocolate molten cake! molto bene!!

I've only been here once, but it was a pretty nice dinner on a pretty nice patio. I had a roast chicken. I typically do NOT eat chicken breast but this chicken was so juicy and delicious that I had no problem eating it. The risotto was good (?) - I do not get the appeal behind it, I guess. Dinner guests had the eggplant parmesean which was HUGE (and apparently enjoyed) and the braised short ribs which looked delicious. Shrimp appetizer had only 4 shrimp which I thought was kind of pathetic, but the mussels were plentiful and good (not usually a mussel fan). A nice place to go, but a bit spendy to visit too often. Maybe I'll be back for another special occasion.

This was our first visit to this restaurant and it was fabulous. It is not an expensive restaurant as far as Italian goes, but it was a very nice romantic dinner with my husband. I had the Penne with spit roasted chicken and it was delicious. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Without question, the best food and service in SW Metro. Braised short ribs to die for. Pork Porterhouse is insanely good. Never a bad meal here. Go, now!

A charming interior, tasty food but laking that "something special" you need to survive in the restaurant atmosphere of Minneapolis. Tried out this D'Amico's restaurant during restaurant week, so prices were affordable. I had this rigatoni dish and was pretty blown away by the tastes. It was an explosion on my mouth! But the portion was so small, I needed more. The house salad was also exceptional. Highly suggest if looking for delicious food. If looking for a special atmosphere and hearty portions, don't hold your breathe.

The food here is better than fine, but I wouldn't go out of my way for a taste. I ordered the short ribs, mussels, and chocolate cake with peanuts. My husband had the Penne. One of my short ribs was undercooked and the other was oversalted. The spaghetti that came with them was AMAZING though. The mussels were also very good. My husband's Penne was also wonderful. The chocolate cake, though, was a miss. The cake was curdy. It was advertised by our waitress as melting in your mouth, which is what we expected and were really let down when it was too dry. Lastly, for a restaurant of this price level, I expected better service. Everything was fine here, but I have had better meals at the mall.

Not bad for a chain Italian restaurant. Had the braised short ribs which is apparently one of their specialties. It was very tasty and fall-off- the bone tender, albeit a little salty for my tastes. My companion had the Sicilian ravioli, which was one of that month's specials, and it fell a little flat, but still reasonably good, definitely a notch above Olive Garden. The ambiance is nice, basically one large open room with a partially open kitchen on one side . Server was friendly. I'd be OK going back if I was in the area.

Been coming here for over 10 years, can't recall a negative experience worse than one time getting a rum and Coke when I asked for Jack and Coke. Their balsamic-glazed short ribs easily make my "Top 5 Fav Dishes EVER", the fried calamari is delicious and the desserts are good enough to induce a little shame. Maybe a high $$ or low $$$ depending what you order/alcohol consumption. Top-notch service and ambiance every time, great spot for a quiet birthday dinner or an intimate date ;)

Yes I've probably been here over 50 times. Sad but true but every time it's as good as the first. I have to say I have never been disappointed. Food is always good and they'll never let you down. My "go to" whenever I can't decide where I want to have dinner. Set off in a off beat strip mall you probably have to want to be coming to this place or there's probably not much else near by that would bring you to this spot in town (unless you're a church goer). This place get high marks for so many reasons....... 1. Best hidden patio area in town. I think most people really forget about this place but in the summer one of my favorite spots to go. They have a wonderful outside patio with lots of greenery and nice seating. 2. Service is always exceptional. There are ample wait staff to fill your empty water glasses and bring you more bread. Basically make you feel like a "princess". 3. Food is darn right GREAT! Yes every meal I've had there. I don't know how they do it but this place always amazes me. They often feature a monthly menu with specials. Unfortunately, I have a staple here and don't tend to deviate from it. I scan the menu every time I come but always end up with the penne pasta with split roasted chicken and artichokes (in a lemon and garlic sauce). Trust me this is just not some ordinary pasta dish. This one is "to die for". Oh I can't forget to mention the walnut pear salad either. Another favorite. 4. This place is busy but you can sometimes walk in (on a weekend night) without a reservation and sit in the bar area. There are quite a few smaller tables and it's a great spot. Sometimes a little quieter than in the main dining room area. 5. Another member of the D'Amico family so you really can't go wrong here. If you're looking for an excuse to try this place out and come on a Sunday night for "Date Night". Get a 3 course dinner for 2 plus a bottle of wine. (Only $50 per couple). Another option is their Sunday "Wine Sale". Get 2 entrees and then get a bottle of wine for half price. Both reasons.... for me to come back soon.

Went out with our work team as a group of 12 after a day of meetings and we were looking forward to some unwind time. Started off with rounds of toasts to some fantastic Malbecs and Syrahs which were smooth on the palette. Once we ordered the delectable names on the very to the point menu we were just having a good time in the ambiance of the restaurant. What blew most of us away was the service delivery of the food once it arrived. As a group of 12 it would typically take at MOST restaurants a few trips by the two waitresses who were serving our table. We were suddenly approached by probably half of the staff at our table with our respective dishes in a matter of seconds. The food was epic! Had the Braised Rabbit with baked Brussels Sprouts which was phenomenal! Right amount of flavor and seasonings there and everyone else was ranting and raving about the Braised Short Ribs. Servers kept out wine glasses topped off and we just had a good flow and a heck of time! Top notch service with great food!

This place has almost every ingredient for a phenomenal happy hour... Great drink specials, phenomenal appetizer deals and attentive staff, but the crowd who arrives is just a pretty quiet and minimal crew. For a relatively quiet happy hour, this works well, but if you want more vibe, it just won't be here. A great positive for this place is the Easter brunch- which is served family style with a little bit of something for everyone. We've done Easter brunch for the past few years and have never been anything but delighted. Highly recommend!

Nice restaurant and Good food but a bit expensive .. I would say a little more than double dollar ! Very few choices for veggie lovers and no soups . The waitress was very friendly !! If you don't mind the cost then go for it !!

I've been wanting to try this place for awhile. After a long day of showing houses, I stopped in for dinner. The ambiance is soft and romantic. Perfect for a date. For dinner I ordered the rabbit. It was good, but nothing to rave about. My date had the gnocchi. I LOVE gnocchi, but this gnocchi was dry and chewy. Perhaps we came on an off night? Campiello is worth a try if you like Italian, but for the price, I've had better.

Amazing Italian restaurant! The calamari were crunchy and tasty, and the accompanying pesto sauce was the perfect match. The Sicilian meatballs were also perfect, and could feed more than 6 (one each). Tagliatelle with bolognese sauce are a favorite of mine! The chocolate cake mousse was a perfect salty / sweet combination. Great service too!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
